The Huntsville Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) is a group of software professionals in the Huntsville, Alabama area interested in software process improvement. It brings together parties from industry, government, and academia "for the interchange of ideas, information, and mutual support."

The Huntsville SPIN was organized in 1993 by Darryl Davis of Davis Systems, with assistance from James Reeb of the US Army AMCOM RDEC Software Engineering Directorate. It runs informally and without membership fees through the support of local organizations and in cooperation with the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Supporting organizations include:

·        Davis Systems,

·        The IEEE Computer Society Huntsville Chapter,

·        Northrop Grumman Mission Systems,

·        Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC),

·        The US Army AMCOM RDEC Software Engineering Directorate,

·        GlenTalon Consulting, Inc., and

·        The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Meetings are held at varying times and locations every few months. View past Huntsville SPIN Meeting topics through the Proceedings Button or future meeting plans through the News Button.
